Beta BIOS Overview

After you update to the beta BIOS, you might be aware that the user interface is totally different compared to the previous version you haven’t updated. We simplified user interface for Beta BIOS to support as more processor models as we can due to the limited size of BIOS ROM. Although beta BIOS is Click BIOS version (GSE Lite) with less graphics and icons than Click BIOS 5, you won’t lose MSI exclusive function such as A-XMP, M-Flash and Smart Fan Control.

How to update BIOS?

Before you enjoy it, the most essential step is to update your BIOS version. There are two ways for you to update BIOS easily, no matter to the new BIOS or back to the previous one.

Flash BIOS Button

The MSI exclusive feature - Flash BIOS Button simplifies BIOS flash process by a small button on rear IO. This is featured on most MSI 400-series motherboards.

Preparing a USB drive with BIOS files, insert to the dedicated USB port and push the button, flash the new BIOS is easy within minutes. You don’t even install a CPU, memory or graphics card while updating.

What if my board doesn't feature Flash BIOS Button?

Don’t worry! All MSI motherboards feature M-Flash, an easy update function in Click BIOS 5 which makes BIOS update easier. You can find it in both Easy mode and Advance mode.

Prepare a USB drive with BIOS files, insert to the dedicated USB port, reboot with your previous generation processor and go to M-Flash function under BIOS screen. Then, replace with 3rd Gen Ryzen processor after BIOS has been updated successfully.
